Past
A thousand years ago, upon the steps of the Morgan clan's main estate, a six year old Neakail was found. No one knew where he had came from, but they did know that he wasn't a witch. This didn't matter to those within the estate, and they decided to take him in to be raised as one of their own. The value their society placed upon children made it impossible for them to turn him aside. However, they made it perfectly clear to Neakail that he wasn't one of their own. This wasn't done out of cruelity. No, they believed that keeping the truth behind a person heritage could cause more harm than good. A person needed to know what they were in order to understand their powers and whatever other information that came with it.
The only thing was, in spite being six years old, Neakail had very little memories of anything before he was found upon those steps. Two sets of memories stick out more than the rest. The first one, he is certain occurred regularly, he recalls his mother carrying him everywhere within his dragon form. He had preferred to be in that form. A fact his father would jokily comment upon, and his mother would tell him that if Neakail wanted to remain in his dragon form he could. He felt the most loved and safest within his mother's arms. He knew from the memories that he had absolutely adored his mother.
The second set only happened once, and just before he was found upon the steps. In this memory, his mother stuffed him inside a cabinet and told him stay there until she came for him. Neakail has no idea how long he waited there, but he knew that his mother never came for him. No, the ones that opened the cabinet's doors were the phoenix and dragon his father created to protect him and his mother. It was they who put them upon the steps of the Morgan's estate. Though, he does remember screaming at them, telling them that he needed to return to that cabinet and wait for his mother to return.
It was these memories that lead Neakail to declare himself a dragon. This was a declaration that those around him couldn't deny. However, helping him figure out what it meant to be a dragon wasn't something they could really do. Dragons weren't exactly common. In fact, most people swore they were extinct, and a few of these individual swore that Neakail was nothing more than a shape shifter that happened to take a dragon form rather than an actual dragon. Most, however, believed that there might be some truth to his claim. He had powers and abilities that went beyond a mere shape shifter.
Neakail learned everything he could about dragons from whatever source he could find it. He was often found exploring the libraries of the various clans, and when he became old enough he left his adopted family to explore the world and find other information about dragons out there. He has not stumbled across another dragon during his journey, but he has learned that he might not be completely dragon, or at the very least that he is a bit odd for his coloring. He has white scales. According to the lore he has read, white dragons are light dragons. His powers and abilities aren't those associated with light dragons. He had ice abilities.
A fact that made him believe that he was an ice dragon, but after researching them he realized that he has some abilities that they don't have. There is, also, the fact that several times he has displayed abilities and powers associated with black dragons, but he dismissed that because he isn't sure if he had actually used those powers, or if it is just his imagination. Eventually, he decided trying to label himself was unimportant. It wasn't like he was going to run into another dragon, and they were going to demand him to correctly classify himself. As far as Neakail was concerned, he was a dragon. It was that simple.
Free from his pursuit to figure out what he was, Neakail could now explore other cultural and societies in a deeper depth than he previously did. It wasn't just other cultural and societies that he explored, but dark and forgotten places as well. He had a great wanderlust. He becomes extremely restless if he stays within one place for long, but he does return to the Morgan estate every once in awhile. It is home and the people there are his family, as far as he is concerned. Though, many of those that he had formed bonds with when he first arrived are now dead. He has gotten close to those born since, but it doesn't feel the same.
Present
Another one of these exploration has taken him to the human nation of Adrealia where he met a human girl by the name of Airlie. Even, through he knew that it might have let to the elites that patrolled the lands within Adrealia, he allowed her to see his dragon form. Given her occupation, he was certain that she wasn't going to babble the information to anyone. There was a part of him that wanted to take her flying and out of there, but he knew that he had no right to assume she was unhappy with the life she lived---in spite what she might claim. He does, however, know if she every ask him to take her away that he would.
